Case Study: Slipssy and Neck Comfort in Bedridden Cancer Users
Background:
Two female cancer patients, one aged 16 and the other in her 60s, experienced neck discomfort while bedridden. The younger patient was undergoing chemotherapy, while the older patient was in the terminal phase of her illness. Both patients received Slipssy pillow covers through the company's compassionate gifting program.
Observations:
After using Slipssy, both patients reported a reduction in neck discomfort. The 16-year-old's mother noted an improvement in her daughter's comfort, while the older patient stated that Slipssy helped relieve her neck discomfort.
Hypothesis:
It is hypothesized that Slipssy's ability to reduce friction and facilitate ease of movement may contribute to decreased neck tension and discomfort in bedridden individuals. This could potentially improve comfort and sleep quality, which may positively impact overall well-being and recovery. Further investigation is needed to explore these potential benefits.
Future Steps:
Slipssy will continue its compassionate gifting program and develop a follow-up program to document user-reported outcomes. This data will be made available to healthcare professionals to further explore the potential benefits of Slipssy for bedridden patients.
Professionals and Family Caregivers:
Healthcare professionals and family caregivers who are interested in learning more about Slipssy or conducting research on its potential benefits for bedridden patients or learn about the compassion program are encouraged to contact Jean-Francois Asselin at jfasselin@slipssy.com
