Case Study: Neck Pain Relief in an 11-Year-Old with Diagnosed Myalgia
What Is Myalgia?
Myalgia generally refers to muscle pain or soreness and can be caused by anything from minor strain to more complex health conditions. For more information on myalgia, you may visit the Cleveland Clinic: Myalgia (Muscle Pain) (Note: Cleveland Clinic does not endorse Slipssy.)
Background
An 11-year-old boy from Colombia frequently woke up at night crying from neck pain linked to a diagnosis of myalgia. His situation was documented by a local physiatrist. Despite trying various pillows and sleep positions, his nighttime discomfort persisted, interrupting his rest and affecting his overall well-being.
Introducing Slipssy
While exploring a pop-up shop, the boy’s mother met Slipssy’s founder, Jean-François Asselin, and asked if the pillow cover might help with her son’s neck pain. Jean-François explained there was no formal clinical evidence at that time, but invited her to try Slipssy as an alternative approach to easing nighttime discomfort.
Reported Outcome
According to the mother, the very first night of using Slipssy allowed the child to sleep until morning without interruption. He called Slipssy “the best gift of his life” and described it as a genuine game-changer for his nightly comfort. Since then, he continues to use Slipssy every night, insisting he can’t sleep without it.
Discussion
This is one individual’s experience rather than formal clinical evidence. However, it highlights the potential role that reducing friction and tension may play in easing nighttime discomfort. Further research or clinical studies would be required to determine any definitive effects of Slipssy on myalgia-related neck pain.
